Cold brew, anyone? And I’m not talking about a beer. I’ll admit, I’m more of a tea girl due to my “addiction” to coffee in college. It wasn’t just for the caffenie, I actually drank it for the taste. Okay, and to get me to my 8ams and keep me up during those late night study sessions. Coffee has been a sparingly drank beverage — more of like a treat, to me. Until recently… oh boy. What’s your usual order at Starbucks? Mine is an iced coffee with a splash of skim. Just recently, Starbucks announced the permeate addition of cold brew to their menu. SCORE. It’s different than iced coffee in the fact that rather than being brewed with hot water; it’s steeped in cold water for anywhere between 12-36 hours and then filtered. To me, it’s less bitter and goes down soooo smooth. Even more recently, I’ve been able to have my made-to-order drink at home. Yep, that’s envy worthy.
Chocolate cravings are serious and should not be ignored. I was itching for something delectable today; something that would satisfy that awful sweet treat craving. I was actually very close to running to Cold Stone last night to get some ice cream. Instead, I went to bed thinking I’d forget about it in the morning. Ugh, fail. As I sat in my kitchen scrounging the cupboards for anything that would resemble a dessert, I saw three lonely ripe bananas sitting on the counter, along with chocolate chip morsels and shredded coconut in the cupboard. Hmmm… an idea started brewing in my head…
Have you ever had such a busy week that it all seems like a blur? I have. When there are so many priorities, obligations, wants and needs on my plate; I tell myself there is a solution for all of it! Some of you may know, I’m a girl of many hats – it’s by choice. Let me give you a little background as to what I do…
Earlier this month, my boyfriend and I took a spontaneous trip to the Windy City for the Fourth of July weekend! It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been there… if I can recall correctly, the last time was for Lollapalooza. This 3-day trip was especially exciting – old friends, new friends, great food and fabulous company! I’m still overwhelmed by the wonderful hospitality we received while out there. I was even impressed with my packing skills!
Who can resist a stellar deal? I was hoping I’d say “ME!” but that boat sailed a long time ago… Earlier this week, my cousin was in town and squeezed me in her schedule before she took off to New Orleans for a few days. So, what better way to get in some quality bonding time than a little shopping and dining at the Somerset Collection. Let me start by saying that I had no intentions of buying ANYTHING during this trip. Little did I know that I would stumble upon a handful of fabulous goods at Macy’s.
The wedge salad is a light, refreshing and classic side. Traditionally, it consists of tomatoes, bacon, and blue cheese over top a wedge of iceberg lettuce and smothered in buttermilk dressing. So, why do I love the wedge salad so much? It’s simple and effortless, yet completely enjoyable. I’ll admit, it’s the only way I will eat iceberg lettuce in a salad – and it’s ridiculously good.
I’ve clearly been on a sandwich kick lately… it goes to show that two slices of bread can do more justice than just peanut butter and jelly (like this Chicken Pesto Panini). With summer kickin’ into full gear, nothing sounds better than a little B-B-Q.
For the longest time, I’ve been searching just about everywhere for the classic Calvin Klein Jeans logo tee. I even checked out thrift shops and eBay… but no luck! One day as I was scrolling through my Instagram feed, I saw Urban Outfitters showcase the comeback of the classic Calvin tee. Leave it to UO to bring back vintage. Literally – without even having to think about it – I hopped on and pre-ordered my purchase! Good thing I did, though… I don’t even see that it is available anymore! Now, I can finally keep it cool in my Calvins, worry free.
Just because you work in an office doesn’t mean you have to dress drab! I’m a working girl who wears a lot of hats. My workplace is actually pretty casual, but with my fashion desires I choose to express myself with what I wear. If you’re in the typical pantsuit, slacks and blouse, or business casual environment; it’s always important to make sure your individuality shines through. Remember, being fabulous certainly isn’t a crime!
